Owners as Strategists Conference

The Owners as Strategists conference encourages the development of new theories and stimulates discussions on how ownership affects business strategy.

A strategic ownership perspective recognizes that ownership means control over the company and its resources. Strategic owners have the ultimate right to decide how value is created in the enterprise. The theoretical and practical need to examine corporate ownership in the context of corporate strategy is urgent. The reason is that ownership is (again) increasingly concentrated in the hands of strategic owners such as entrepreneurs, families, cooperatives, asset managers, hedge funds, foundations and states worldwide.

The goal of the conference is to bring together a broad range of scholars with an interest in ownership, governance, and strategy issues to discuss the overarching question of what role ownership plays in corporate strategy and governance.

The next Owners as Strategists conference will be held on June 27, 2023.
