Wyplosz gives Jöhr Lecture

Prof. Charles Wyplosz, Ph.D., Professor of International Economics at the Graduate Institute of International Studies and Director of the International Center of Money and Banking Studies in Geneva, will give the 2009 Walter Adolf Jöhr Lecture on the topic of “Economics After the Crisis”.

On the eve of the Dies academicus
The lecture will traditionally take place on the eve of the Dies academicus, on Friday, 15 May 2009, at 11.15 a.m. in Room 09-011 (Senate Room) in the Library Building of the University of St.Gallen statt. Admission is free.

Blunders before and during the crisis
In this lecture on “Economics After the Crisis”, Prof. Wyplosz will raise the question as to whether the economy will develop in a way similar to the global depression of the 1930s. Moreover, he will speak about blunders before and during the crisis and about the substantial implications that resulted from them for the field of finance theory, as well as elucidating the less serious consequences for economics.
