13 December 2019. The AMBA accreditation was preceded by an extensive application and preparation process, which took several months. After the submission of comprehensive documentation, an assessment visit was fixed for September 2019, during which the University of St.Gallen had to face the international experts’ detailed questions. The official announcement that the HSG has been awarded the AMBA accreditation has now been received. The HSG has been accredited for the maximum possible period of five years, i.e. until September 2024.
International programme accreditation
The University of St.Gallen as a whole has already been accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development by means of the EQUIS seal of approval, and the School of Management (SoM-HSG) and the School of Finance (SoF-HSG) by the US-American AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). With the quality label from the Association of MBAs, the University of St.Gallen has now also been granted an internationally renowned programme accreditation.
"Triple crown" for the best business schools
Only about 90 universities worldwide have been awarded the EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditations and thus hold the "triple crown". "The AMBA accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best programmes worldwide," writes the Association of MBAs. The University of St.Gallen naturally hopes that the new AMBA accreditation will enhance the attraction and visibility of its MBA and Executive MBA programmes even more.
