Three Kausch Prize winners

Prof. Dr. Georg Kämpfer, Frankfurt am Main, Prof. Dr. Norbert Pfitzer, Stuttgart, and Prof. Dr. Wienand Schruff, Berlin, will be awarded the 2011 Dr. Kausch Prize at the University of St.Gallen (HSG).

16 March 2012. Georg Kämpfer, Norbert Pfitzer and Wienand Schruff will receive the prize for their services to the development of accounting and auditing.

The three prize winners
Georg Kämpfer, b. 1955, obtained his doctor’s degree from the University of Frankfurt am Main. He is a member of the Executive Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers AG, Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main, and has been an honorary professor since 2000, first at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management and since 2006 at the University of Mannheim.

Norbert Pfitzer, b. 1953, obtained his doctorate from the University of Mannheim. He is a member of the Executive Board of Ernst & Young AG in Stuttgart and has been teaching as an Honorary Professor of Auditing at the University of Mannheim since 2000.

Wienand Schruff, b. 1954, obtained his doctor’s degree from the University of Münster. He is a member of the Executive Board of KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft Berlin. In 1999, he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Münster and in 2011 at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Award presentation at the HSG
The Dr. Kausch Prize has been awarded for outstanding achievements in research and practice in the field of financial and industrial accounting since 1984. The prizes will be awarded at a public ceremony at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) on 22 March 2012.
