27 April 2009. The new book is the great narrator’s declaration of love to the small town where he lives. The reading will be held in the Library of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) and it will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Andreas Härter, Associate Professor of German Language and Literature.

The reading is part of a series entitled “The other book at the Uni”. In this context, the HSG Library invites the general public to readings twice a year. Admission is free.

Big cities are like many small towns
For Alex Capus, big cities like Zurich or Berlin are “nothing more than Olten ten or a hundred times over”. The author tells stories about his home town, its inhabitants and the beauty of Olten Railway Station, the smell emanating from the chocolate factory, as well as the perfectly mundane madness that “keeps us alive day after day”.

Alex Capus used to work as Home Editor at the Schweizerische Depeschenagentur in Berne. He now lives as a freelance writer with his family in Olten.
