1 April 2019. The University of St.Gallen (HSG) will be present at the OFFA from 10-14 April 2019 for the fifth time already. Visitors will be able to experience the University Library at a simulation stand. On Saturday, President Thomas Bieger will also be on site until lunchtime, as will Vice-President Professor Dr. Lukas Gschwend on Sunday.

Library services

We will be pleased to provide you, your friends and relations with information about public services such as lending, research and consultation facilities in the Library. Also, the public reading entitled "The other book at the Uni" takes place twice a year.

Body and mind

In addition, the University will also present the Children’s University at its stand, as well as the public lecture courses, which first were on offer as early as 1898. Today, the general public can choose from among 40 lecture series on politics, sociology, psychology and art, as well as issues of literary criticism in several languages. The lecture programme changes every six months. In 2003, the programme was supplemented with the Children’s University. In Autumn Semester 2019, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Children’s University, which will again take place with four exciting lectures, with each of the four professors dealing with a different topic.

Virtual worlds – a glimpse of research

The Behavioral Lab provides students and researchers at the University of St.Gallen with a platform for experimental behavioural research. Additionally, it makes available a pool of approx. 1,200 students, who regularly participate in experiments. Besides 20 computer stations, a mirror room and various biometrical measurements such as eye-tracking, galvanic skin response and software for the identification of emotions, experiments can also be conducted with virtual reality glasses. At the OFFA stand 3.1.46 of the University of St.Gallen, you will have an opportunity to immerse yourself in virtual worlds.
