25 January 2011. It was particularly with the regard to issues concerning exercise that the Unisport team advised the organisers of the St.Gallen Health Symposium. “This ranged from proposals for topics to the recruitment of speakers in the fields of sports, physical activities at the workplace, life domain balance, etc.” said Unisport instructor Daniel Studer.

Life domain balance
Various lectures during the Symposium mentioned the fact that nowadays, work and life cannot be separated any longer (work/life balance). The focus is on life as a whole. “Life domain balance” is the new slogan, according to Studer. Physical activities, he said, are therefore not something that should only take place in the evening after work; rather, they should also be integrated in daily working life, along with sports training sessions – either through the configuration of the workplace, active breaks, self-management during work or other measures. In this way, great progress can be made not only in terms of health but also in terms of work efficiency.

Numerous younger visitors
This year, the Health Symposium attracted numerous younger visitors to the trade fair facilities. 100 exhibitors were present with information stands, interactive elements, and stalls and advice stands. In addition, 30 lectures were delivered in a series about health issues.

The climbing wall – a highlight
Highlights included the “sports island”, which this year offered a climbing wall. In many places, visitors were encouraged to engage in sports themselves.
