8 December 2010. As its new album Step Forwardshows, the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble has not lost any of its creativity and versatility even in the 16th year of the band’s history.

Exciting music mix
The group offers a varied mixture of jazz and ska rhythms which will make you forget the pre-Christmas stress. In the USA, the band is particularly well known for its ska interpretations of standard jazz pieces. The band regularly tours Europe, Canada, the USA and Latin America.

Students invite jazz to theUni
The "Jazz an der Uni" initiative with its concerts is an enrichment for the cultural environment of the University of St.Gallen. Students regularly invite musicians from the broadly defined area of jazz to St.Gallen. This year, after the long renovation period, "Jazz an der Uni" is leaving the Mensa and returning to Aula, where the series of concerts will start. Jazz an der Uni is aimed both at students and faculty of the University and at all the jazz fans in the region.
