16 February 2010. The University of St.Gallen (HSG) is to set up a central Office for University Sponsorship, whose aim it is to bring together extramural sponsorship interests with trail-blazing projects of the HSG and to establish long-term sponsoring partnerships. This is intended to safeguard the funding of the constant development of research and teaching.

Called upon more than ever
The University of St.Gallen (HSG) is an institution under public law that is largely funded through contributions from the Canton of St.Gallen, the other Swiss cantons and the Swiss Confederation. Against the background of international competition, however, the HSG is nonetheless called upon more than ever to raise additional private means to finance its research and teaching activities.

Guarantee excellent research and teaching
With the Office of University Sponsorship, the HSG intends to tap additional financial sources to continue to be able to guarantee excellent research and teaching and to maintain its top position among European universities.
