28 August 2012. The Student Union of the University of St.Gallen and HSG Alumni Law are inviting the general public to a debating duel between the National Councillors Prof. Dr. Daniel Jositsch (Social Democrats) and Dr. Christoph Blocher (Swiss People’s Party). The event will take place on Tuesday, 4 September 2012, from 6.00 to 7.30 p.m.

Filippo Leutenegger will chair the public discussion in the Audimax. In their disputation, the politicians will deal with the question as to how Switzerland should take its bearings in a global economy. Jositsch and Blocher will explain from their respective viewpoints how the country will be able to remain economically successful – and this “in the field of tension between truth, cunning and lies”. Admission will be free.

The Student Union (SHSG) is an official entity of the University of St.Gallen. It relies on voluntary student commitment and distributes this motivation across two channels: the representation of students’ interest and the provision of services for students. Above and beyond this, the Student Union also organises public events like the panel discussion between the two National Councillors.
