Job fair at HSG

The University of St.Gallen will host the recruitment event “HSG Talents Conference 2011” March 1-26. The conference starts with a public panel discussion on the subject of “Earning Money Decently”.

17 February 2011. HSG students will organize the HSG Talents Conference, an event that brings representatives of more than 100 regional, national and international companies to campus. Students will be able to meet with company representatives to sound out career opportunities and receive advice on applying for jobs.

Discussion on „Earning Money Decently “
Kicking off the conference at 6 p.m. on March 1 in the main auditorium, a panel of five business and political leaders will discuss different facets of the subject „Earning Money Decently“. The five participants in the panel discussion will discuss guidelines for socially responsible corporate transactions, for example in the diamond and tobacco industries. They also will address what a "business model of tomorrow" could look like.

The panel includes:
•Moderator: Pascal Ihle, deputy to the editor-in-chief of „Handelszeitung“
•Christoph Blocher, former Federal Councilor
•Peter Gomez, professor and former president of HSG, president of the board of directors of SIX Group
•Antoinette Hunziker, founding member and CEO of Forma Futura Invest AG. Hunziker formerly was a member of the group management of Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG and leader of the Swiss Stock Exchange.
•Urs Peter Koller, founder, executive director and president of the board of directors of Zipangu Swiss Gems AG, the only diamond manufacture in Switzerland
•Ralf Wittenberg, general manager of British Tobacco Switzerland & Central Europe

Job fair at Olma Messen
The job fair, the principal item of the HSG Talents Conference 2011, will take place on Wednesday, March 9 from noon to 6 p.m. in the St.Gallen Olma-hall 9.1. About 90 international, national and regional businesses will be present. Companies will organize workshops, presentations and informal meetings on the HSG campus March 2-24. International and regional businesses will present themselves with special guests.

Two interview days as a conclusion
Two interview days on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, will round off the HSG Talents Conference 2011. The objective of the interviews is to match job candidates with vacant positions in the companies. Students can submit their CVs in advance on the HSG Talents website (www.hsgtalents.ch) and apply for an interview with the company they are interested in. The companies will invite potential candidates for an interview.
