25 January 2010. The City of St.Gallen has launched this new platform together with the HSG, the St.Gallen University of Applied Sciences and the Euregio Bodensee Technology Centre.

Christoph Müller as CEO
The first CEO of Startfeld is Prof. Dr. Christoph Müller, Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence (CEE-HSG) of the University of St.Gallen.

Three pillars
The concept of Startfeld is based on three pillars: 1. Young entrepreneurs will be advised, mentored and actively supported during the start-up stage. 2. Start-ups will be provided with a favourably priced infrastructure and a platform for the transfer of knowledge on premises that still have to be created. 3. A foundation, which still has to be established, will make early start-up funds available to young entrepreneurs.

In this way, Startfeld will make a central contribution towards a prosperous and innovative Eastern Swiss economy and help to further consolidate the City and Region of St.Gallen as a centre for knowledge-oriented firms and innovation.
