22 February 2017. The HSG Talents Conference will take place from 1 to 22 March and is being organised by six students of the University of St.Gallen for students of the HSG. More than 100 regional, national and international firms will participate. Every career presents its very own obstacles – the three panel guests, too, had to overcome a large number of obstacles in the course of their careers. Daniel Sager will moderate the discussion with the Director of the Swiss Office of Police (fedpol), Nicoletta della Valle, paralympic athlete Marcel Hug and SRF-TV talk show host Kurt Aeschbacher.

A day-long fair on the Olma premises

The centrepiece of the HSG Talents Conference, the job fair for HSG students, will take place on Wednesday, 8 March 2017. More than 90 companies and organisations from a wide variety of industries and regions will be represented at the fair that day, including IWC Schaffhausen, Credit Suisse, Hilti, BMW Group Switzerland, Deloitte, General Electric, Unilever, the Federal Administration and Zurich Insurance. Corporate diversity is increasing year after year: the HSG’s job fair is pleased to welcome an ever increasing number of recruiting companies from various regions and professions.

Starting a career successfully

Between 1 and 22 March 2017, companies will also offer students workshops, presentations and interviews on the HSG campus. Students will have an opportunity to acquaint themselves with various international groups, but also with regional companies. They will be able to train, and provide evidence of their knowledge and skills in workshops.

They will be able to establish contact with corporate representatives in a casual atmosphere, for instance at a company dinner or in the course of Confect and Connect, where they can make pralines or nibbles together. The purpose of the interviews is to find suitable candidates for vacancies in the various enterprises. In workshops and individual consultations, HSG’s career centre, Career & Corporate Services (CSC), provides students with a specific preparation for their first step into working life. Topics include the drawing up of application documents, interview training sessions and optimal preparation for a visit to the job fair.
