30 January 2012. In joining the 2012 ranking, the St.Gallen MBA becomes both the first from the German-speaking world, as well as the only new European programme on this year’s list. As one of Europe’s youngest MBA programmes this is an excellent achievement especially in a year with a particularly strong showing by new programmes from Asia and a resurgence from the US.

Very competitive areas

“The St.Gallen MBA is still a young programme but the Financial Times ranking is an affirmation of our goal to develop an MBA based on solid academic fundamentals and innovative career development techniques,” says Prof. Simon Evenett, MBA Academic Director. “The FT has confirmed that we are on the right track in what is possibly one of the most competitive areas of management education.”

Indictaors of quality

“Like accreditations, rankings are external assessments and, as such, good indicators of the quality of universities and business schools”, says Dr. Matthias Straetling, the HSG’s Delegate for University Development. “The fact that we have managed to get into the most competitive ranking, and that the Financial Times numbers our MBA programme among the top 25 in Europe, confirms that we are on the right track to establish ourselves in the top group of European business universities.”
