Ranking since 1999
The Financial Times has regularly published so-called Business School Rankings ever since 1999. The present Executive Education Ranking assesses management courses for executives and is one of five rankings published by the Financial Times in the course of the year (the others being Global MBA, European Masters in Management, Executive MBA, European Business Schools).

The rankings aim to assess and compare the best programs and business schools that produce the “global managers of the 21st century”.

Highly selective ranking
The Financial Times Rankings are highly selective; only leading, internationally oriented business schools are considered. In the 2009 Executive Education Ranking that has just been published, the University of St.Gallen and its programs have been awarded 30th place in the worldwide comparison, which means an advance by three places from the previous year.

1st place in German-speaking area
The top positions are still occupied by the Harvard Business School in the USA, the IMD in Lausanne, and Duke University in the USA. Among the leading European universities, the HSG occupies 13th place (previous year: 14th place). This list is led by the IMD in Lausanne, the IESE Business School in Barcelona and Madrid, and HEC in Paris. Among the business schools in the German-speaking area, St.Gallen still occupies 1st place.
