Federal Council elections 2022: A "crooked" Federal Council
Albert Rösti and Elisabeth Baume-Schneider were elected to the Federal Council today to succeed Ueli Maurer and Simonetta Sommaruga. The new national government is thus not only dominated by French- and Italienspeaking Swiss, but also has a clear rural orientation. Eastern and central Switzerland are clearly underrepresented.
