19 March 2012. The START Days are a two-day event focusing on the topic of entrepreneurship. They will enable participants to discover and realise their entrepreneurial potential. The event is open to interested students from all majors; registration with www.startglobal.org is a necessity.

Two days, two programmes
At the START Jam (Monday, 26 March 2012), participants will develop their own business ideas and compete for the 2,000-franc START Business Model Award. The START Summit (27 March 2012) will focus on an exchange with successful founders in workshops, lectures and a panel discussion. The event will be held in German. Participants can attend one or two days according to their choice.

Business idea in 24 hours

At the START Jam, participants will develop a business idea within 24 hours; they will be assisted by experts in the process. The actual idea need not be there right from the start but will be developed in a Business Idea Jam at the beginning of the event. On the following day, the teams will present their ideas to an expert jury.

The three best teams will be given an opportunity to present their business ideas to the plenary audience at the START Summit and thus to win the 2,000-franc START Business Model Award.

Claus Hipp and many more
The START Summit is Switzerland’s biggest student entrepreneurship conference. Participants can expect to hear keynote speeches by Claus Hipp (HiPP family business), Klaus Hommels (venture capital investor in companies such as Facebook, Xing and Spotify), Ehssan Dariani (founder of StudiVZ, and HSG alumnus) and Cornelius Boersch (Serial Entrepreneur and Business Angel).

In addition, workshops about entrepreneurship issues will take place in the morning and in the afternoon. The overall programme will be complemented by the presentation of the START Business Model Awards, the Table Session with numerous start-ups, and a panel discussion on the topic of “The future of e-commerce”. The detailed programme can be found at www.startglobal.org.
