Elmiger reading postponed

The advertised reading with the East Swiss author Dorothee Elmiger on 7 October 2010 in the University of St.Gallen Library has had to be postponed due to conflicting appointments.

Elmiger is to receive the ZDF “aspekte” Literary Award 2010 on 7 October in Frankfurt am Main. The new appointment for the reading has been made for 11 November 2010.

Bachmann prize winner
Dorothee Elmiger, who received second prize in this year’s Ingeborg-Bachmann competition in Klagenfurt, was born in Wetzikon in 1985 and grew up in Appenzell. She studied at the Swiss Literary Institute in Biel and spent a semester at the Literary Institute in Leipzig.

Award-winning novel
In her award-winning novel “Einladung an die Waghalsigen” [Invitation to the Brave], she tells the story of two sisters who have to assert themselves in the post-apocalyptic world of a former coal mining area.

Free admission
The author’s reading is part of the series “Das andere Buch an der Uni” [A different type of book at the Uni]. The HSG Library invites the public twice a year to readings within this framework. Admission is free.
