31 August 2012. For seven years, the HSG has not participated in the St.Gallen Museum Night because of the building renovation work. On the occasion of the 8th St.Gallen Museum Night, the HSG will again open its doors on 8 September from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and permit visitors to look behind the scenes. All visitors can expect an extensive programme on the campus.

From Arp to Richter – art and architecture on the HSG campus
In various guided tours, the HSG and the student association proArte will direct visitors’ attention to art and architecture in the HSG’s Main and Library Buildings.

The guided art tours will take place at 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and midnight, the guided architecture tours at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Each tour will take about 45 minutes.

Art for young guests
There will also be an exciting programme for children and young people. They can print, paint or work with clay in various workshops and let themselves be inspired by the works of art on campus.

The workshops for children from four years of age will last about 90 minutes each and start at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Needless to say, parents will be able to accompany their children to the workshops.

Further programme items
In an exhibition about the HSG yesterday and today, visitors to the Museum Night will learn how the University has changed and developed together with the City of St.Gallen ever since 1898. An entertaining and cultural diversion will be provided by the University Choir and the Student Theatre. They will enrich the evening with spontaneous performances. During the breaks between the programme items, visitors can relax and enjoy an extensive pasta and salad buffet.

General information
The St.Gallen Museum Night is organised annually in September. This year, it will take place on 8 September from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. 35 museums and galleries in and around St.Gallen will participate, and hope that visitors will come and enjoy their many-faceted programmes.

Tickets for the Museum Night are CHF 20.00 and entitle holders to be admitted to all museums and galleries involved. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the booking offices or, during the Museum Night, at the University. Admission will be free for children and young people up to 16 years of age.

Tickets for the Museum Night entitle holders to free rides on the shuttle bus (Stocken/University) as well as on the circular route (Rundkurs) and in the entire Ostwind Zone 10 (including night surcharge). During the Museum Night, the University of St.Gallen can be reached by shuttle bus, which will run every 20 minutes between the University and St.Gallen Railway Station.
