25 February 2016. The topic of the opening event will be “Decision-making in uncertain times”. This public panel discussion, with which the HSG Talents Conference will be launched, will take place in the HSG Audimax (Room 09-010) on 1 March 2016 at 6.15 p.m.

How can good decisions be made in uncertain times? Which decision is the right one, and how do we confront fear of failure? How can we learn from uncertain situations, and how can we exploit them? Moderator Daniel Sager (TVO Programme Manager) will examine these questions with Monique Bourquin (CFO of Unilever in Germany, Austria and Switzerland), Dr. Konrad Hummler (Partner, M1 AG) and Adrian Locher (founder and until summer 2015 COO of DeinDeal AG).

A day’s fair on the Olma premises

The centrepiece of the HSG Talents Conference, the job fair for HSG students, will take place on Wednesday, 9 March 2016 from 12.00 noon to 6 p.m. in Olma Hall 9.1. More than 90 companies and organisations from a wide variety of industries and regions will be represented at this fair, among them IWC Schaffhausen, Credit Suisse, BMW (Switzerland), Deloitte, Manor, Helvetia Insurance, Schott Schweiz, the Federal Administration, Raiffeisen and Bühler. Corporate diversity is increasing year after year: thus the HSG Talents job fair is pleased to play host to more and more recruiting companies from various regions and professions.

Successful career start

Between 1 March and 23 March 2016, firms will also offer students workshops, presentations and an opportunity for interviews on the HSG campus. Students will have the possibility to become acquainted with various international groups, but also with regional enterprises. In workshops, they will be able to train and provide evidence of their knowledge and skills. In a relaxed atmosphere, they will be able to establish contact with corporate representatives, for instance at a “company dinner” or in the course of “Confect and Connect”, making pralines together.

Recruiting event for HSG students

The purpose of the interviews is to find suitable candidates for vacancies in the various companies. In workshops and individual consultation, HSG’s career centre, Career & Corporate Services (CSC), provides students with a specific preparation for their first step into working life. Topics include the drawing up of application documents, interview training sessions and optimal preparation for a visit to the job fair.
