19 October 2010. Annlynn Miller, a pianist from New York, and Ulrich Schmid, a Swiss cellist, set up their permanent cello/piano duo in 1995. Their aim was to perform masterpieces which were composed for these two instruments. Their concerts have aroused a great deal of enthusiasm in the USA (Carnegie Hall, New York City; The National Gallery, Washington) and in Europe.

Concerts with Brahms, Beethoven and Schumann
The duo has made a name for itself with the interpretation of all the works for cello and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. A great impression was also created with performances of Alfred Schnittke’ssonatas and his yet unpublished Epilogfor the balletPeer Gynt, composed for cello, piano and tape recorder. They further initiated the entire cycles by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms for larger-scale chamber music ensembles, in which they took over the parts of the piano and the cello.

Studentcommitment to music
The UniMusic association, which was established in 2008, acts as an intermediary for professional music lessons for students and staff and aims to stage a variety of musical projects at the HSG in order to enrich cultural life at the University. Everyone who likes good music is kindly invited to the concert.
