Electric cars are likely to dominate the automotive market of the future because they represent a more climate-friendly alternative to conventional vehicles. However, it is important to keep the environmental impact of the production of e-car batteries as low as possible. The CircuBAT research project funded by Innosuisse is addressing this challenge. In its subproject 7, the Institute for Economy and the Environment of the HSG together with EMPA are working out possible business models for a circular economy in battery production and their impact on the environment.
