7th DocNet Management Symposium

On Friday, 20 November 2009, the 7th DocNet Management Symposium, this time on “Strategic leadership in times of change”, will take place on the Executive Campus of the University of St.Gallen.

10 November 2009. It is organized by DocNet, the HSG’s doctoral student association. The Symposium will focus on leaders and managers with responsibility for (overall) organization and will examine such leaders’ characteristics and actions in the times of uncertainty and change brought about by the current economic crisis.

Different speakers
The Symposium will consist of lectures and panel discussions with personalities from academia, politics, and trade and industry. Speakers will include Eberhard Diepgen (former Governing Mayor of Berlin), Prof. Steven Floyd, Ph.D. (Professor of Strategic Management and General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies), Dr. Martin Schmitt (Head of Corporate HR, Deutsche Lufthansa AG), Prof. em. Dr. Peter Ulrich (Founder of the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen), Dr. Claude Heini (Corporate Leadership Programs, UBS AG), Dan Haas (Partner Bain & Company, Zurich) and Anita Salt-Wetzstein, MBA (Managing Director, Salt Consulting AG).

Primarily aimed at doctoral students
The Symposium is primarily aimed at doctoral students and graduates engaged on a habilitation thesis but is also open to students of Master’s and MBA programs, as well as extramural participants.
